The “BIG SHOW” at the park is canceled for social distancing this year, so the Mike Love & Associates law firm is bringing the show to you by giving away $100 worth of fireworks to 100 East Texas Families. We may have to wait until 2021 before we can light up the ENTIRE East Texas sky again, but we can still celebrate this great country with family and friends. Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement of Angelina County is a program dedicated to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship in young adults. Members of our staff enjoy giving their time by being in the classrooms and teaching life skills to the students.
We also support fundraising activities such as the Wall Street Stock Market Challenge where we were able to have a team and compete against other members of our community.
Fireworks Extravaganza
While Mike Love and Associates is dedicated to defending the rights of injury victims and their families throughout Texas, our firm is headquartered in East Texas and actively supports community-related events. We were honored to receive the Business of the Year Community Impact Award in East Texas in 2015. This award is presented to a business that demonstrates exceptional commitment to giving back to the community through volunteer hours and donations. Mike Love and staff continue to share their time, talents, and dollars with our community. The July 4th Fireworks at Ellen Trout Lake were about to be canceled due to the city's budget issues. Mike Love took over the setup and cost of the fireworks show, and it continues to grow in size and scope every year. Volunteers begin setting up the display at 5:30 a.m. for the show that starts at dusk. Attorneys Sam Johnson and Dakota Fandry cook and serve lunch to the first responders who help the day run smoothly. It's a day filled with fun activities at the zoo and local entertainment as thousands of folks from all over East Texas share the day with family and friends.

Do Dat Bar-B-Q Smokes Out in Nacogdoches, Texas
The Do Dat Bar-B-Q cook-off is held annually in historic Nacogdoches, Texas. This cook-off had been canceled after many years, but in 2018, a small group of volunteers decided to revive it, rising from the ashes. Mike Love and Associates, LLC, was one of the first sponsors to say yes and helped by becoming the media sponsor. As with most community events we sponsor, we also have employees who volunteer their time. Attorney Sam Johnson, a Stephen F. Austin alumnus, tags the meat as it is brought in, and other employees assist with working the gate. Proceeds from this fun event go to the United Way of Nacogdoches County. Join us for a day of fun, food, and fellowship in beautiful Nacogdoches, Texas! See you soon.
