What started as a community rescue effort in 2005 — when the City of Lufkin was forced to cancel the annual fireworks due to budget cuts — has grown into East Texas's most beloved July 4th tradition. For 21 years, Mike Love has personally funded and organized Lufkin's Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza, and the celebration keeps getting bigger every year.

Join us every July 4th for Lufkin's largest fireworks display, lighting up the night sky over Ellen Trout Lake after a full day of food, live music, games, and family fun at Ellen Trout Park.

Parking & Shuttle Service
Parking at Ellen Trout Park fills quickly as the day goes on. Lufkin ISD provides FREE shuttle bus service from Lufkin High School from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with return service after the fireworks show. We strongly encourage using the shuttle.
